AARP empowers people to choose how they live as they age, serving as a wise friend and fierce defender focused on the priorities of older Americans. AARP advocates, builds partnerships, surfaces new insights, and delivers value to members every day. 

As people live longer, healthier lives, they’re working longer because they want to or need to. Over the next decade, workers ages 50-plus will make up a growing share of the labor force. Many older adults want or need to continue working but face barriers such as age discrimination. 

With five generations working side-by-side now “the new normal,” AARP sees opportunities in a reimagined workforce ecosystem, one that we can create and invest in. All of us can benefit. Among the most successful businesses are those with expressed commitments to building multigenerational, inclusive workforce practices. Members of AARP’s Living Learning and Earning Longer Collaborative and Employer Pledge programs are prime examples.
