Scam Warning — Protect Yourself and Your Organisation

It has come to our attention that some of our sponsors have been contacted by unauthorised organisations falsely claiming to be affiliated with The Future of Work Series, organised by M-Media Events.

Unfortunately, this type of scam is common in the exhibition industry, particularly when organisers publish exhibitor lists on their websites or event apps. These fraudulent entities often use our publicly available branding, logos, and event details to make their communications appear legitimate.
Please note: The Future of Work Series and M-Media Events are not associated with these organisations in any way.

We strongly advise all participants to remain alert and verify the legitimacy of any third-party contact before sharing any information or making any payments.

Official Communication Policy

To help you identify genuine communications from our team:

  • All official correspondence regarding The Future of Work Series will only come from addresses ending in @m-mediaevents.com.

  • If we are working with approved third-party suppliers (for example AV, logistics or venue services), their contact details will be published within our event materials/communications by M-Media Events using the email: @m-mediaevents.com

  • We do not sell delegate, attendee or sponsor data outside of direct sponsorship packages.

  • Any contact from companies claiming to sell attendee lists, offer hotel bookings or provide listings in event directories is not authorised by M-Media Events.

Please be particularly cautious of any unsolicited emails or calls claiming to represent our team or partners.

Common Scams to Watch Out For

1. Attendee or Delegate List Scams

You may receive emails offering to sell you a “Future of Work Series” attendee or delegate list.
These are 100% fraudulent.

M-Media Events never sells attendee data outside of formal sponsorship agreements. Any such “lists” are fabricated, often compiled using publicly available data.

Important:
Official attendee lists are only provided to confirmed sponsors and exhibitors after each event.

2. Accommodation Scams
Fraudulent companies may contact you with offers of discounted hotel rates, claiming to be “the official accommodation provider”.

Please note the following:

  • We currently have no partnerships with external hotel booking agencies.

  • Any official accommodation information will appear only in the “Hotel Information” section of this portal or in communications sent directly from M-Media Events.

  • Do not book hotel rooms or provide payment information to any company not listed on our official website.

3. Directory, Sponsorship or Marketing Scams

Scammers may claim to represent an “official publication”, “event directory” or “digital magazine” using the Future of Work Series branding.

These offers are not authorised by M-Media Events.
Please disregard such communications and avoid sharing any company or financial details.

4. Phishing and Impersonation Scams

Phishing is a tactic used by scammers to steal personal or financial information by pretending to represent trusted organisations.
Fraudulent emails or phone calls may:

  • Use M-Media Events or Future of Work branding to appear genuine.

  • Offer false attendee lists or hotel booking deals.

  • Request personal, banking or payment details.

5. Fraudulent Phone Calls

You may receive fraudulent phone calls from individuals claiming to represent the “Future of Work Conference.” In some cases, the caller states that the matter is urgent and requests an immediate call back.

Please be advised that this number is not associated with The Future of Work Series or M-Media Events.

Our team will never contact you demanding urgent action without prior context, nor will we request sensitive information or payment details over an unsolicited phone call.

If you receive a call from this number, or from anyone claiming to represent our event and creating a sense of urgency:

  • Do not share any information

  • Do not return the call

  • Report the incident to your account manager or email partners@m-mediaevents.com

We encourage all partners to remain cautious and verify any unexpected communication directly with our team.

Remember:

  • M-Media Events will never contact you about attendee lists, hotels or sponsorships unless you have made the initial enquiry.

  • Only trust emails sent from @m-mediaevents.com.

How to Verify Legitimacy and Report Suspicious Activity

If you receive a suspicious email, phone call or message:

  • Gather Information
    Note the sender’s name, company, email address and any relevant details.

  • Verify Authenticity
    Contact your M-Media Events account manager directly, or email us at partners@m-mediaevents.com or hello@m-mediaevents.com  or attendees@m-mediaevents.com to confirm whether the communication is genuine.

  • Report Fraudulent Activity
    If you believe you have been targeted by a scam, report it to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) or Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud and cybercrime reporting centre.
