What does it look like when an organization fully commits to transforming its culture? BC Hydro, like most utilities in North America, has entered an era of significant growth and change as the expectations and complexity of building the province’s economy while supporting social goals have grown significantly. The ways of working that served the organization well up to this point must change if the organization is going to meet these future demands. Carolynn Ryan, CHRO, will share the organization’s culture change journey, which has required deep commitment from people across the organization, particularly the executive team, and a clear understanding of the belief system that guides their culture. The results emerging show that important targeted shifts in the belief system are taking root and changing long-standing behaviour.
