Presentation: Enterprise Learning Architecture in Practice: Building a Learning Organization Together
Peter Senge’s five disciplines of a learning organization are familiar to most leaders: systems thinking, personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning. Far fewer have committed to sustaining them for nine years, at scale, under real pressure. I’m five years into that bet. I lead learning across an enterprise learning ecosystem of over half a million learners in the United States Air Force. I’ve created space for community discovery, we are immersed in continuous process improvement, and ready to take on implementation. In this session, I’ll share what discovery and CPI taught us, and what I’m learning right now about implementation science as the strategy shifts into its next phase. I’ll also share our sustainment plan: a simple structure, one signature event per phase, that any leader can apply. You’ll leave with a practical pathway for organizing, conveying, and building the shared understanding a learning organization runs on, whatever role you’re in and however long you plan to stay.
