Anu Madgavkar
Anu Madgavkar is a partner with the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey’s business and economics research arm.
Anu leads global research on generative AI, robots, and the future of work; human capital and organizational performance through people; demographics and the world’s labor footprint; economic empowerment and inclusive growth; gender in the workforce; digital ID, data, and payments; and small business productivity and ecosystems.
Prior to her current role, Anu was a Partner and co-leader of McKinsey’s Financial Institutions practice based in Mumbai, where she served organizations on growth, strategy and people topics in banking and capital markets.
Anu is a counsellor to business and government leaders and an active speaker on the world stage including at top-level convenings by the United Nations, B20/G20, World Bank, World Economic Forum, Aspen, Conference Board, and others. She is widely cited in the media and contributes articles and op-eds to Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Forbes, The Economist, Project Syndicate, and the Financial Times.
Anu serves on the Expert Council for AI at India’s NITI Aayog and on the advisory board of Rocket Learning, a technology nonprofit catalyzing early childhood education for millions in India.
