Senator Farah Mohamed

CEO, Kings Trust Canada

Whether championing young people, newcomers, or women, Farah Mohamed has had a singular mission: to put practical solutions to inequity in front of decision-makers and galvanize them to action.

A refugee from Uganda, Farah came to Canada as a child. Her journey inspired her to launch a thirty-year career working with politicians, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists to give back to Canada. She served as a senior advisor to Canadian politicians, founded G(irls)20 (now FORA), and became CEO of the Malala Fund. Today she serves as CEO of The King’s Trust Canada, a national charity, founded by His Majesty King Charles III, that helps young people facing barriers increase their employability.

Farah is a board member of RefugePoint, and an advisor at Apolitical and The Harbourfront Centre. She is a recipient of The Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General, and has been recognized as one of BBC’s Top 100 Women. As of March 2025, Farah has been appointed to the Senate of Canada.
