Future of Work Canada: Education Breakfast Roundtable

From Campus to Economy: How AI Is Reshaping Education’s Role in the Future of Work

April 8th, 2026 | 11am until 12:30pm

Artificial intelligence is reshaping every sector of the economy and education sits at the centre of this transformation.

Institutions are being challenged to embed AI fluency across disciplines, redesign academic delivery, strengthen governance frameworks, and ensure graduates are prepared for an AI enabled labour market.

In this closed door executive roundtable, senior education leaders will explore how institutions must evolve to remain relevant, resilient, and economically aligned in the decade ahead.

Key themes will include:

• Integrating AI across curriculum, research, and institutional operations
• Building AI literacy and digital fluency across faculty and staff
• Strengthening governance, risk management, and responsible AI frameworks
• Preparing graduates for AI enabled careers and emerging skills demands
• Redefining the relationship between campus and industry
• Ensuring equity, accessibility, and inclusion in AI adoption
• Aligning institutional strategy with national economic priorities

This session will operate under Chatham House rules and is designed for strategic peer exchange at the highest level.

Why We’re Hosting This

Future of Work Canada is the country’s largest and most senior gathering of HR and workforce leaders, bringing together the organisations shaping the future economy.

As artificial intelligence accelerates transformation across industries, employers are redefining skills, redesigning roles, and rethinking how work gets done. At the same time, education institutions are under increasing pressure to evolve. They are modernising curriculum, embedding AI capability, strengthening governance, and preparing graduates for a rapidly shifting labour market.

Yet the systems shaping Canada’s future workforce employers, educators, and technology leaders rarely convene in the same strategic forum.

We are hosting From Campus to Economy: How AI Is Reshaping Education’s Role in the Future of Work to create that bridge.

This roundtable positions Future of Work Canada not only as the country’s largest HR event, but as a platform connecting the full workforce ecosystem including education, enterprise, and technology.

By convening senior education leaders alongside Canada’s most influential employers and AI partners, we aim to align institutional strategy with emerging workforce demand, explore how AI is transforming teaching, operations, and research, strengthen the connection between campuses and the economy, and accelerate responsible AI adoption across the education sector.

The future of work begins in education. This forum ensures education leaders are shaping that future.
